Lock Backup Scheduler

1   Description

This instruction describes how to lock the backup scheduler. It prevents scheduled backups from occurring. The scheduler can be locked to disable periodic backups during maintenance windows.

If the backup scheduler is locked, it must be unlocked before scheduled backups can run again, refer to Unlock Backup Scheduler.

2   Procedure

2.1   Lock Backup Scheduler

Prerequisites

Steps

  1. Navigate to the BrmBackupScheduler managed object, for example:

    >dn ManagedElement=NODE06ST,SystemFunctions=1,BrM=1,BrmBackupManager=SYSTEM_DATA,BrmBackupScheduler=SYSTEM_DATA

  2. Enter Config mode:

    (BrmBackupScheduler=SYSTEM_DATA)>configure

  3. Lock the backup scheduler:

    (config-BrmBackupScheduler=SYSTEM_DATA)>adminState=LOCKED

    Attention!

    Risk of data loss or data corruption.

    Locking the backup scheduler cancels any ongoing scheduled backup.

    Note:  
    The value of the adminState attribute cannot be cleared by the no adminState ECLI command

  4. Commit the change:

    (config-BrmBackupScheduler=SYSTEM_DATA)>commit

  5. Verify that the backup scheduler is locked:

    (BrmBackupScheduler=SYSTEM_DATA)>show

    The following is an example output:

    BrmBackupScheduler=SYSTEM_DATA
       adminState=LOCKED
    [...]
       schedulerState=DISABLED <read-only>
    [...]
