CSCF Domain Routing Function Memory Limit Reached
Call Session Control Function

Contents

1   Alarm Description

The alarm CSCF Domain Routing Function Memory Limit Reached is raised when more memory than maximally allowed is used for the synchronization of the target configuration set, identified by the attribute cscfDomainRoutingSelectedConfig.

At initialization of the alarm, the requested Domain Routing Function (DRF) synchronization is ended and the DRF traffic handling is resumed using the existing active configuration set identified by the attribute cscfDomainRoutingActiveConfig. The alarm therefore does not affect traffic handling.

Table 1    CSCF Domain Routing Function Memory Limit Reached Alarm Causes

Alarm Cause

Description

Fault Reason

Fault Location

Impact

CSCF DRF memory limit has been reached.

CSCF DRF synchronization activities have crossed the maximal allowed memory limit, causing synchronization to end.

CSCF DRF memory limit was crossed, causing synchronization to stop.

The configuration or analysis tables of the modified DRF is larger than what the memory is dimensioned for, which is identified by the attribute cscfDomainRoutingSelectedConfig.

When the alarm is raised, the requested DRF synchronization is ended and the DRF traffic handling is resumed using the existing active configuration set identified by the attribute cscfDomainRoutingActiveConfig. The alarm therefore does not affect traffic handling.

Note:
This alarm can appear as a result of maintenance activity.

2   Procedure

To correct the failure, reduce the amount of configuration data to be synchronized. When the configuration data has been modified, the alarm is cleared at the next successful synchronization of the tables, that is, when the cscfDomainRoutingSyncConfig is set to true again.

2.1   Handle Alarm CSCF Domain Routing Function Memory Limit Reached

Prerequisites

Steps

  1. Is it possible to remove or optimize the Domain Routing Matching Tables or reusing Domain Routing Results?

Yes: Make the adjustments at the maintenance center.

No: Consider to enforce the needed changes in the external DNS server.

  2. Is the DRF application enabled and the CSCF application not supposed to be used?

Yes: Set cscfDomainRoutingEnabled to false to disable the DRF application.

No: Continue with the next step.

    Note:
Disabling the DRF application after receiving the alarm does not clear the alarm.

  3. Reduce the amount of configuration data in the affected configuration set, as specified by the cscfDomainRoutingSelectedConfig attribute.

For more information about the configuration management parameters, refer to Managed Object Model (MOM) and CSCF Configuration Management.

  4. Set cscfDomainRoutingSyncConfig to true.
    Result:
The alarm ceases at the next successful synchronization of the new configuration set.
  5. Has the alarm ceased after correcting the configuration?

    Yes: Proceed to Step 7.

No: Continue to the next step.

  6. Consult the next level of maintenance support.

Further actions are outside the scope of this instruction.

  7. Job is completed.
