1 Description
This instruction describes how to change strategy for scheduled backups that can be stored in the managed element.
Attribute housekeepingStrategy defines the housekeeping behavior when the number of scheduled backups exceeds the maximum number of scheduled backups configured.
The housekeeping strategy can be set to the following:
- REMOVE_OLDEST – This is the default value and implements the current behavior. The oldest scheduled backup is deleted.
- REPLACE_PER_SCHEDULE – Backups based on the event that created them are deleted. When a backup is deleted to maintain the maxStoredScheduledBackup limit, any older backups without an associated scheduled event are deleted first and backups the current event. If none of these are found, an error is raised and backup creation is canceled.
- Note:
- In REPLACE_PER_SCHEDULE mode, if housekeeping is required and no backup that fits the criteria of strategy is found, backup creation is canceled and an error is raised.
2 Procedure
2.1 Change Housekeeping Strategy for Scheduled Backups
Prerequisites
- No documents are required.
- No tools are required.
- The following conditions must apply:
- The new value of housekeepingStrategy is known.
- An Ericsson Command-Line Interface (ECLI) session in Exec mode is in progress.
Steps
- Navigate to the BrmBackupScheduler managed object, for example:
>dn ManagedElement=NODE06ST,SystemFunctions=1,BrM=1,BrmBackupManager=SYSTEM_DATA,BrmBackupScheduler=SYSTEM_DATA
- Enter Config mode:
(BrmBackupScheduler=SYSTEM_DATA)>configure
- Change the value of housekeepingStrategy, for example:
(config-BrmBackupScheduler=SYSTEM_DATA)>housekeepingStrategy=REPLACE_PER_SCHEDULE
- Commit the change:
(config-BrmBackupScheduler=SYSTEM_DATA)>commit
- Verify the change:
(BrmBackupScheduler=SYSTEM_DATA)>show -v
The following is an example output:
BrmBackupScheduler=SYSTEM_DATA [...] housekeepingStrategy=REPLACE_PER_SCHEDULE [...]
