1 Introduction

This document describes the procedures about how to migrate IPWorks configuration and data from HP ProLiant DL380 Gen9 to HP ProLiant DL380 Gen10.

1.1 Prerequisites

This section describes the prerequisites that must be fulfilled before the procedures.

1.1.1 Conditions

Before starting this procedure, the following condition must apply:

The IPWorks on G9 should be upgraded to version 2.2 or later.
The version of IPWorks on G9 is same as that on G10.

2 Procedures

2.1 Deploy IPWorks on G10

Before migration, deploy IPWorks on HP ProLiant DL380 Gen10. Make sure the IPWCLI administrator password is same as that on G9.

For detailed deployment procedures, refer to IPWorks Auto Deployment Guideline for KVM - DL380 Gen10.

2.2 Create Backup on G9

Create user backup, including MySQL data, on G9.

For detailed backup procedures, refer to section Create User Backup in Create Backup.

2.3 Export Backup from G9

For detailed export procedures, refer to Export Backup.

2.4 Import Backup to G10

Import the backup file that exported from G9. For detailed import procedures, refer to Import Backup.

2.5 Restore Backup

For detailed restore procedures, refer to Restore Backup.

2.6 Modify the Configuration File

After restoring the back, modify the ndb configuration file.

# ssh SC-1
# vi /etc/ipworks/mysql/confs/ipworks_mgm.conf
DataMemory=52000M
IndexMemory=7000M

2.7 Reboot the Cluster

Reboot IPWorks after completing the above procedures.

# ssh SC-1
# cmw-cluster-reboot --yes

2.8 Health Check

Do health check after above steps.

2.9 Create Backup on G10

Perform the System backup and User back when all checking shows that the system is healthy. For details on how to perform backup by using ECLI, refer to Create Backup.
