1 Introduction
The procedure described in this instruction is part of a complex procedure, described in CEE Installation. Only perform the steps in this document if the document is referred from another instruction, or a work order is received.
1.1 Scope
This document describes how the BIOS settings for a newly installed Dell PowerEdge R630 server can be configured in the Cloud Execution Environment (CEE).
1.2 Prerequisites
This section provides information on the documents, tools, and conditions that apply to the procedure.

Before starting this procedure, ensure that the following documents have been read and understood:

1.2.3 Conditions
Before starting this procedure, ensure that the following conditions are met:
- A work order for the server configuration is received or the document is referred from another procedure.
- All keys to the site are available and site access is granted.
2 Procedure
This procedure describes how to configure the BIOS settings in a Dell PowerEdge R630 server.
The procedure contains the following activities:
- Setting the boot mode, see Section 2.1.
- Setting system time and date, see Section 2.2.
Start with Section 2.1.
2.1 Boot Mode
Do the following:
- Connect the screen, keyboard, and optionally, mouse to the server, as shown in fig-front-sockets-eps Figure 1.
- Reboot the connected server by using Ctrl+Alt+Del.
- Note:
- The reboot process takes about five minutes to complete.
- When the Dell logo and the text F2=System Setup is shown, press F2.
System Setup is shown.
- Select System BIOS.
- Select Boot Settings.
- Set the Boot Mode as needed.
By default, it is set to BIOS. If the operating
system supports Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI), you
can set this option as such.Attention!
Make sure the boot mode setting here matches what is used during the installation of the operating system. A mismatch can prevent the system from booting.
- Note:
- The recommended hypervisor OS is Ubuntu 14.04.
- Continue with Section 2.2.
2.2 System Time and System Date
This section is only applicable at CEE installation. The system time and system date values are synchronized with the NTP servers during normal operation.
Do not perform the steps in this section in case of server replacement or CEE region expansion.
