You can obtain the EM as an installation CD-ROM or by downloading it via www.online.nokia.com (Nokia Online Services). To install the EM, run the Setup.exe program icon in the window and follow the instructions of the installation program.
Notes:
· Make sure that already installed HW Configurator is closed before running the Setup. Otherwise a reboot will be required for new HW Configurator to come in effect
· Once the installation is complete, the existing *.hwc files may not update the new Nokia Siemens Networks rebranded icon, however the icon will come into affect after a reboot or relogin.
The EM startup shortcut icon is added to the desktop and HW Configurator shortcut folder.
MICROSOFT XML CORE SERVICES (MSXML) 6.0 is a prerequisite to support XML files in HW Configurator.
Note: Windows Installer version 3.1 is a prerequisite to install MSXML. Below is a link, which may help, in resolving common problems faced due to Windows Installer engine.

For more information on Windows Installer or latest Windows Installer downloads, refer to Microsoft support web pages.
To uninstall the EM, follow the normal operating system application uninstallation procedure. If you have saved any EM related files, such as logs or configurations, those files and the directory will NOT be deleted. You need to remove them manually.
