<p>There are no specific alarm numbers allocated for IDD.</p>

<p>If the RF module of an IDD main TRX has an alarm in the
TX or RX part, it is reported to the BSC as IDD main TRX alarm. If the alarm
is blocking, both the main and auxiliary TRX are blocked out of use. If the
RF module of an auxiliary TRX has an alarm in the TX part, it is reported
to BSC as non-blocking IDD main TRX alarm. If 4UD is not used, alarms from
the RX part of auxiliary TRX are not reported and units are not blocked out
of use. If 4UD is used, alarms from the RX part of the auxiliary TRX are reported
to BSC as non-blocking IDD main TRX alarms. <a href="NED?action=retrieve&amp;identifier=general_glossary&amp;edition=13&amp;language=en&amp;coverage=global&amp;encoding=xhtml_1_0&amp;component=data&amp;item=data&amp;pointer=id03977#id03977" onclick="openSmallPopup(event,'NED?action=retrieve&amp;identifier=general_glossary&amp;edition=13&amp;language=en&amp;coverage=global&amp;encoding=xhtml_1_0&amp;component=data&amp;item=data&amp;pointer=id03977#id03977');return false" shape="rect" target="_blank">LAPD</a>
link failure of IDD TRX causes both the IDD main and auxiliary TRX to be blocked
out of use. BCCH transmission is stopped in both TRXs.</p>

<p>The auxiliary TRX does not activate alarms related to the
Abis interface or D1-bus interface. If the BB module of the IDD main TRX has
an alarm, it is reported normally at the BSC. If the alarm is blocking, both
the IDD main and auxiliary TRX are blocked out of use. If the BB module of
the auxiliary TRX has an alarm, it is reported to BSC as IDD main TRX alarm.
In the BTS Manager it can be seen that the alarming unit is the auxiliary
TRX. Alarms from other units, for example, dual duplex unit, connected to
the auxiliary TRX(s) are sent to the BSC as mapped to the combiner connected
to the IDD main TRX(s).</p>

<p>If an auxiliary TRX is hot swapped, both main and auxiliary TRXs are
reset and calls are dropped. Replacing the TRX should be performed using the
Maintenance functions of the BTS Manager.</p>
