This CpFix patch is ONLY intended for use by licensed amateur radio operators, wishing to use the S-split XTS2500/XTS5000 Model III on the 70cm Amateur Radio Service and authorized users in Australia, wishing to use the XTS2500, XTS4000 and XTS5000 radios on the 477 MHz CB Radio Band.

The patch modifies the FPP ranges as defined in the codeplug partition used in the following XTS2500 Model III, XTS4000 and XTS5000 Model III radios:

XTS2500:
H46QDH9PW7AN (380-470 MHz, 4 MB)
H46QDH9PW7BN (380-470 MHz, 8 MB)
H46SDH9PW7AN (450-512 MHz, 4 MB)
H46SDH9PW7BN (450-512 MHz, 8 MB)

XTS4000:
H18QCN9PW9AN (380-470 MHz)

XTS5000:
H18QDH9PW7AN (380-470 MHz)
H18SDH9PW7AN (450-512 MHz)

After modification, the Q-split (403-470 MHz) XTS2500/4000/5000 FPP ranges are:

TX/RX:
380.00000 - 480.00000 MHz

After modification, the S-split (450-512 MHz) XTS2500/5000 FPP ranges are:

TX/RX:
438.00000 - 512.00000 MHz

-------------------------

Note #1: The RX & TX VCOs may not lock through the entire modified range(s).

Note #2: The radios ARE NOT TYPE ACCEPTED to operate in the extended ranges. Hobbyist use only.

This modification DOES NOT add the Q52 or Q53 FPP FLASHPORT options to the radio. You must purchase those options from Motorola Solutions Inc. This modification simply extends the FPP programming ranges. It is safe to run this patch against a radio which is already modified. Additionally, the patch will only be permitted if the model number(s) those outlined above.

You should only run this patch against a radio with firmware R12.00.00 or newer. (R20.50.10 is current, at the time of this release.) Older firmware contains different offsets and you may cause codeplug corruption. (FAIL 01/82)

Further, once this modification is applied, it will be retained until the radio is read, then programmed by ASTRO25 Portable CPS, at which time the modificaton is defaulted back to the factory settings. To stop the modification from defaulting to factory settings each time a read/write operation is performed with CPS, perform the following hex edit to PatPort.exe:

CPS Version: R20.01.00 (final)

Offset: 0x003DF2E5

Original: 74 05 E8 FD 94 F3 FF

Change to: E9 02 00 00 00 90 90

Save and overwrite the original PatPort.exe.
