Acronym/Abbreviation
DST Daylight Savings Time
OS Operating System
RSS Radio System Software

This CD addresses patching the Windows Operating Systems on Motorola radio systems for the Daylight Savings Time changes Congress enacted in August 2005. Beginning in 2007, DST will start the second Sunday of March and end on the first Sunday of November.

Supported Windows Operating Systems:

Windows NT 4.0
Windows 2000
Windows XP
Windows Server 2003

All service packs and OS variations are supported.

Note: The application will automatically detect the Windows Operating System and apply the correct patch/update. However, the User Interface (UI) is different for Windows NT, and will show the status as Updated or Not Updated. There will be a button Update DST which will be enabled if the machine is not updated. Once updated, the UI will refresh, status Updated, and the Update DST button will be disabled.

Please read this information before applying any patches to your System.

Getting Started - General Patching Instructions
====================================================================
Step 1. Close any applications running on the Windows Machine.

Step 2. Simply execute the file "MOTODST.exe" which is located in the root directory of the CD. For example, if your
CD-ROM drive is D, then it would be D:\MOTODST.exe

The User Interface (UI) will present a "click-wrap" agreement. Please read it and if agreeing to the terms, click the "I
Agree" button to continue.

The main UI window will give you information about your system.

Step 3. Click "Patch" to begin installation.

Certain "boxes" may require a reboot, however this is the exception. Users will be notified whether a reboot is necessary.

Recommendation: Run MOTODST a second time after the initial patch run and click "Verify" to ensure all DST patches were
installed on the system. In rare instances, a patch may fail to install on the first attempt. Running the MOTODST CD a
second time and clicking "Patch" again may correct the problem.

IMPORTANT: If your system does NOT have any one of Windows Machines listed in the following subsections, then skip the
corresponding subsections. If you have the ACSS in your system, DO NOT apply any patches to it as it will void the warranty.

NOTE: Administrator privileges are required to install the Windows patches.

NOTE: "Windows Machine" is used as general term in the common procedure. Replace it with the corresponding box when
executing the following subsections.
