For MOTOTRBO CPS 16.0 Build 828, North America, open cpservices.dll in hex editor. Go to offset 0x0000206C. Change 06 to 17. Save.

Run CPS. When you read password protected codeplug, enter anything into field and click OK. It bypasses the password.

To remove password, use above procedure, then go to General tab in codeplug, and scroll to the hidden password field. Delete the data. Write to radio. If radio prompts for password to write, just enter anything, and click OK.
