Read (Write) Codeplug data To (From) Radio or Diskette Screen ============================================================= The codeplug functions screen gives you the oppotunity to specify where the radio codeplug data is to be read in from, and where it will be stored. In the event of a communications failure with the radio refer to the radio communications advice at the end of this help text. The following facilities are available : 1) Read Codeplug data from Radio 2) Load Codeplug data from Disk 3) Write Codeplug data to Radio 4) Save Codeplug data to Disk Read Codeplug Data From radio ----------------------------- To read the radio codeplug data press , if the programmer can communicate with the radio then the following message will appear :- "Radio Being Read" If the read was successful then the following message will be displayed :- "Radio successfully Read" Load Codeplug Data From Disc ---------------------------- Any personality files in the current directory will be displayed on entry to this screen, and the current directory will be shown at the directory prompt. This field can be edited to select a different directory, enter the new directory specification in standard DOS format ie. Directory : a:\data\ - Directory on Drive 'a' Directory : c:\ht800\data\ - Directory on Drive 'c' Press to display the contents of the new directory. To load a file use the key, the 'Directory :' prompt will be replaced by the prompt 'Load File : '. The filename of the required file can either be typed in at the prompt, or it can be selected from the files currently displayed on the screen using the following keys :- Select file below the current file Select file above the current file Select file to immediate right of current file Select file to immediate left of current file The currently selected file is shown in 'reversed video', and will appear at the 'load file : ' prompt. Having selected the file press to load it. Program Radio With Codeplug Data -------------------------------- The radio may be programmed with the current personality by pressing the key. On programming a radio the following message will appear :- "Radio being Programmed" Provided that the radio was successfully programmed the following message will be displayed :- "Radio Successfully Programmed" Save Codeplug Data to Disc -------------------------- The directory path and filename for the file are specified as described in the read codeplug data from disc section, with the exception that to specify the filename to which the file will saved the key is used. Once the filename is selected press . If the filename already exists, you will be given the warning :- "Overwrite Existing Files (Y/N)" Assuming you wish to overwrite the current files, press , otherwise press and select a new filename. Providing the save was successful the message will be given :- "Files successfully Saved" Radio Communication ------------------- If the programmer is unable to communicate with the radio then you will see the following message :- Radio Communications Failed - Error nn Where 'nn' indicates the type of failure. A list of common failure numbers and their likely causes is given below :- 1 - Radio not connected to RIB 3 - Radio powered off 11 - RIB not connected to computer or RIB power failure Should a communications failure occur please check that your equipment is set up correctly, according to the "Equipment setup" section of the user guide, and that power is supplied to both RIB and radio.
