The RM100 Radio Monitor system can be used to watch the airwaves for specific alphanumeric or numeric radio page transmissions. It can be programmed to look for page messages to a specific user and/or messages containing a specific word or phrase. Received messages can be forwarded to a different pager or group of pagers. In addition any program can be automatically started upon receipt of a message. All messages will be logged to a disk file.
The RM100 is a small pod that plugs into the serial communications (COM) port of a 486 or faster PC. It will accept the audio output signal (although an unfiltered discriminator output is preferred) from most commercially available radio scanners tuned to a paging channel (typically in the 929 through 932 Mhz band) and decode messages transmitted using 512, 1200, and 2400 baud POCSAG format.
The RM100 works in conjunction with AccuPageTM for Windows (included with purchase of a Complete kit). An alternative program that logs and displays RM100 output (but cannot send pages) is free of charge and can be downloaded from this site.
A simple and easy to use screen sets up the RM100 to monitor pages to different users, or pages containing specific words or phrases. The system can forward the message to another user and/or start up a program.
All received messages meeting the specificied criteria are logged to a disk file. The system also logs other activity such as message forwarding.
To help in distinguishing POCSAG formatted paging transmissions from other common formats, we are providing sample sound files (WAV format) of several page transmissions. Each paging format has a distinctive sound, and after hearing these recordings one should be able to readily identify the format being heard from a receiver's audio output.
All kits come with complete instructions and schematic, and include a copy of the AccuPage Radio Monitor program on disk. The Complete kit also includes AccuPage.
