Loads an ICF (Icom Cloning Format) file, saves the current file,
deletes a file, activates a DOS command interpreter or quits this 
program.

When saving an ICF file, any cloning comment specified in the Common
screen is also saved in the file for reference purposes.




//// Screen //// ((( PMR )))

Sets transceiver data in 9 separate screens.  Open a screen, then set
data.

In addition, once a screen is opened, the following shortcuts are
available to select other screens:

     Push [Shift] + [Page Up]
       or [Shift] + [Page Down]


NOTE 1: An optional UT-96 is necessary to use the settings in the RX Code
        CH screen.

NOTE 2: An optional UT-105 is necessary to use the SmarTrunk mode.
        Select the channel attribute in the Memory Channel screen. 
        The SmarTrunk mode may select for each banks.
        "SmarTrunk" appears at the left side on the screen, when SmarTrunk
        mode was selected.

Connect the transceiver with the OPC-478 cloning cable for reading or
writing data between the transceiver and PC.  Turn the transceiver 
power ON before cloning; and, turn the transceiver power OFF and ON 
after cloning.

"Information" allows you to read the connected transceiver type, CPU 
revision as well as any programmed comments (set in the Common 
screen), etc.




//// Print ////

Prints the current screen data or all screen data through the 
connected printer.




//// Model ////

Selects the transceiver model.

"Model" is automatically selected during clone read or file load, 
therefore, this selection is not usually necessary.




//// Setup ////

Sets the PC's display type and selects an RS-232C port.

Color is recommended for a color CRT display and monochrome 1/2 is 
recommended for a monochrome LCD display.

Priority         One push selection with the [PRIORITY] key.

Emergency       Specifies emergency transmission channel with

SmarTrunk       Push the [Enter] key to toggle the SmarTrunk

* NOTE:
When turning SmarTrunk mode ON, set all functions which will not be
used for trunking operations OFF.
Otherwise, the SmarTrunk system will not function properly.

For CTCSS frequency selection:

 Push [Enter] to indicate the frequency list window, 
  then make a selection.

 Directly input the tone frequency.
  (Input a decimal, otherwise, a DTCS code is selected.)

 Use [Space] or [Backspace] to increase or decrease the frequency, 
  respectively.


For DTCS selection:

 Enter the desired 3-digit code number directly.
    N: for normal polarity,  I: for Inverse polarity

 Push [Space] or [Backspace] to toggle the polarity.

NOTE: "<-" indicates the same frequencies or codes are used for both  
      the tone encoder and decoder.

OFF          Opens the noise squelch while pushing and holding the 
             [Moni] key.
             Audio is not emitted when the channel is in "Inaudible"

Audible      Push and hold the [Moni] key to select "Audible" 
             mode. 
             Noise squelch mute is released and audio is emitted 
              while holding the key.
             5-tone mute is released; but CTCSS (or DTCS) is closed
              after releasing the key.

Inaudible     Push to select "Inaudible" mode.
              Push and hold to open the noise squelch. 
               While the channel is in "Inaudible" mode, this 
                operation is no meaning, since the 5-tone mute has

Reset Code: When operating the following order, a reset code is 
            transmitted automatically.
             (1) [CALL] transmission ... "Audible" is selected.
             (2) Pushing [MONI] ........ "Inaudible" is selected.



 When CH Mute is CONTINUOUS (5-tone mute is not in use)

Timer A    Returns to "Inaudible" mode* for specified time

Timer A +  Returns to "Inaudible" mode* for a shorter period
 Inactive  than above or "Inactive timer" from the time of
   or      "Audible" mode selection.
Timer B +    During transmission, returns to "Inaudible" mode*
 Inactive     as soon as transmit is finished.


*"Inaudible" means:
 5-tone mute is effective when "CH Mute =  SGL" 
 CTCSS (or DTCS) is turned ON when "CH Mute = CONT".

NOTE: To turn OFF the auto reset function, set the timer (Time A 
      or Time B) to OFF (set to 0 sec.) in the Common screen.

              DTCS) is activated and released, respectively.

Single       5-tone mute is ON / PTT mute is ON
             "Inaudible" and "Audible" modes mean the 5-tone 
              mute with CTCSS (or DTCS) is activated and 
              released, respectively.


NOTES:
 To use 5-tone mute ("Single" selection), the optional 5-tone UNIT 
  is necessary.

 5-tone decoder is activated for operation in the RX Code CH 
  screen even when "Continuous" is selected in this item.

 Selects the 5-tone format for 5-tone encoder/decoder.

 DTMF digits can be used instead of 5-tone digits.

When the [Call] key is pushed, the following 5-tone codes are 
transmitted in sequence.  These columns specify the TX code channel
number used.

RPT : Repeater code
                    Ŀ
STN : Station code     Sequence of these codes can be
ID  : ID code          changed in "ID Pos" column.
                    

SELECTION METHOD:

(1) Set the TX code contents in the TX Code CH screen in advance.

(2) Assign a TX code channel number to these codes.
     Enter "0" to turn OFF the specified code.

(3) Push [Space] or [Backspace] to turn the long tone ON and OFF.
     "L" appears when the long tone is turned ON.

NOTES:
 When STN (station) is turned OFF, the [Call] key does not function.

 ID code can be turned OFF in the next column, "ID Pos".
  If ID code is turned OFF in this column, "Log IN/OFF" and "TOT ID"
  function cannot be used.

Sets the sequence of the 5-tone code.

In addition, the 5-tone decoder (in RX Code CH screen)
detects the station code (mute release) and ID code (for 
indication) in this sequence.

Each RX Code channel has some functions, such as answer back, beep, 
indication, etc., when a matched 5-tone code (station code) is 
received.

This column assigns the RX Code channel to the operating channel.
Up to 8 channel numbers can be assigned.  The group code channel is 
assigned regardless of this column's settings except when no channel
is ON.

SELECTION METHOD:
  Push [1] to [8] to toggle the selection.
   Indicated channels are effective
    Non-indicated channels are not effective.

Moni(Audi)     Activates a function specified in the "Switch action 
               Moni" item in the Memory Channel screen. 

High/Low        Push to change the output power from the 
                 independent setting of each channel.

Scan A,         Push to start or cancel a scan.
Scan B          Push and hold to add or delete the operating 
                 channel to the scan list.
                Scan A and Scan B cannot be assigned at the same   
                 time, because the transceiver cannot have 2 
                 different scans.

DTMF Autodial    Push [DTMF], then select a DTMF memory channel 
                  via [] or []. 
                 Push [DTMF] to transmit the DTMF memory.
               
 * Set DTMF     Keypad type
   numbers       Push and hold [DTMF] to set DTMF autodial and enter the
                  [0]- [9], [A] - [D], [*] and [#] keys, then push 
                  [DTMF] to complete the setting.  
                No keypad type.
                 Push and hold [DTMF] then select the code number via
                  [] or [].
                 Push [DTMF] to set the next code number.
                 Push and hold [DTMF] to complete the number. 
              
                This function cannot be assigned to the [A] - [D]

Re-Dial         Transmits most recently transmitted DTMF codes 
                 again (acts for both manual DTMF and autodial).  
                Re-Dial will be cleared when the transceiver is turned 
                 OFF.

C.Tone CH Ent  Push this key then select a continuous tone memory 
               channel via [] or [] to change the tone frequency.

Keyboard Lock  Turns the keyboard lock function ON and OFF.

Beep           Turns the operation beep tones ON and OFF.

Talk Around    Turns the talk around function ON and OFF. 
                Talk around sets the transmit frequency to the 
                 receive frequency for mobile-to-mobile operation.

Priority CH    Selects the priority channel.

Emergency       Push and hold to transmit an emergency call 
Repeat           repeatedly at specified time (in the Common screen)
                 intervals.
                  The emergency channel is specified in the Memory 
                   CH screen (CH Atr column).
                This function cannot be assigned to the [A] - [D] 
                 keys.

Emergency       Push and hold to transmit a non repeating emergency
Single           call.
                  The emergency channel is specified in the Memory
                   CH screen (CH Atr column).
                This function cannot be assigned to the [A] - [D] 
                 keys.

TX Code         Push [TX code], then select a TX Code channel via   
                 [] or [].
              
 *Set TX code   Keypad type.
  number        Push and hold [TX code] to change the contents of the
                 station code using [0] - [9] and [*].
                No keypad type.
                Push and hold [TX code] then select the code number via
                 [] or [].
                Push [TX code] to set the next code number.
                Push and hold [TX code] to complete the number.
              
                Acceptable input digits and update can be specified

Call           Transmits the 5-tone code sequence on the selected

Shift          Push and hold to shift the CPU's clock frequency.

Turbo          To automatically call a commonly used number with
SpeeDial       one push, when SmarTrunk mode is selected.
A/B/C/D        To assign maker programmable keys to the [A] - [D] keys.
               Ref: "Programming memory speed dial" in instruction 
                     manual.

Talk Around    Turns the talk around function ON and OFF. 
                Talk around sets the transmit frequency to the 
                 receive frequency for mobile-to-mobile operation.

Priority CH    Selects priority channel.

Emergency       Push and hold to transmit an emergency call 
Repeat           repeatedly at specified time (in the Common screen)
                 intervals.
                  The emergency channel is specified in the Memory 
                   CH screen (CH Atr column).
                This function cannot be assigned to the [A] - [D] 
                 keys.

Emergency       Push and hold to transmit an emergency call.
Single            The emergency channel is specified in the Memory
                   CH screen (CH Atr column).
                This function cannot be assigned to the [A] - [D] 
                 keys.

Shift          Push and hold to shift the CPU's clock frequency.

Trunking       Push to select the Trunking Group.
Group Switch   

Turbo          To automatically call a commonly used number with
SpeeDial       one push, when SmarTrunk mode is selected.
A/B/C/D        To assign maker programmable keys to the [A] - [D] keys.

The TOT penalty time is the transmit inhibit period when the
time-out timer is activated.

The time-out ID out function automatically transmits an ID code 
when the time-out timer activates and just before transmission 
is inhibited. 

The ID code must be set to each channel in the Memory Channel screen.

The time-out ID out function automatically transmits an ID code
(DTMF code) when the time-out timer activates and just before 
transmission is inhibited. 

The ID code can be set in the DTMF Autodial screen.

The transceiver emits warning beeps 10 sec. before, and the
time-out timer activates when this setting is turned ON.




//// Lockout Penalty Timer ////

The lockout penalty time is the transmit inhibit period when the user
attempts to transmit while in a lockout condition.

The transmission is inhibited for the lockout penalty time even when 
the lockout condition is cleared. 




//// CTCSS Reverse Burst ////

This setting is effective when the CTCSS function is in use.

When the PTT is released, the transceiver still transmits for 
this set period without the CTCSS encoder.
This removes the transceiver's 'squelch delay'.




//// Power ON Password //// 

This item turns the password function ON and OFF.

When the function is turned ON, 4-digit password input is necessary 
at power ON.

When the "Stun" function activates to disable the transceiver, 
password input is necessary regardless of this setting.

This item sets the 6-digit passcode to access the Dealer set
mode.

This passcode is used only when the "Set Mode Access" is
set to "Enable"

This item enables or inhibits reading the transceiver's 
memory contents with both using this software and cloning
between transceivers.

This function does not inhibit data writing, therefore, data
overwriting is still possible when this item is set to
"Inhibit."




//// Fast Scan Timer ////

Sets the scanning period for each channel without CTCSS/DTCS 
programming.

An appropriate time is set by default and scan may not stop when 
setting a value less than the default.




//// Slow Scan Timer ////

Sets the scanning period for each channel with CTCSS/DTCS 
programming.

An appropriate time is set by default and scan may not stop when 
setting a value less than the default.




//// TX DTCS Inverse ////

Selects the transmit DTCS code polarity. 

In order for transceivers to communicate using DTCS codes, the 
polarity of the transmitting transceiver's transmit code must be the
same as the polarity of the receiving transceiver's receive code.




//// RX DTCS Inverse ////

Selects the receive DTCS code polarity.

In order for transceivers to communicate using DTCS codes, the 
polarity of the receiving transceiver's receive code must be the same
as the polarity of the transmitting transceiver's transmit code.




//// Emergency SW ON Timer ////

This item sets the period for which the [Emer] key must be held to 
activate the emergency function.

To transmit an emergency call, push and hold [Emer] key for the set 
period.




//// Emergency SW OFF Timer ////

This item sets the period for which the [Emer] key must be held to 
cancel and emergency call.

To cancel and emergency call, push and hold the [Emer] key for the 
set period before emergency transmission.
However, once the emergency call is transmitted, the call cannot be 
canceled regardless of this setting. 




//// Emergency Start/Repeat ////

This item sets the delay and interval periods for the emergency call.

When [Emer] key is pushed and held, the transceiver transmits an 
emergency call after the set period.

When the [Emergency Repeat] is used, the transceiver transmits 
repeatedly at this interval until on "emergency cancel" code is 
received.




//// PWR Save Start Timer (1st)/(2nd) ////

For setting the power save start timers.  When the power saver 
function is turned ON and while receiving no signal for this time 
period, the transceiver's internal circuit starts to toggle between 
the "idle" and "activate" condition, respectively.

  Selectable time; 
     The 1st timer: 0 - 25.5 sec. 
     The 2nd timer: 0 - 255 sec.

NOTE: After the 1st timer period, the power saver function activates
      and then switches to long power saver at the 2nd timer period.
      The 1st timer must be set smaller than the 2nd timer, otherwise
      the 1st timer does not activate.

Set the Low beep tone frequency from 400 to 2998 Hz.
 Nearest available frequency is selected automatically.

Set the High beep tone frequency from 400 to 2998 Hz.

Selects the DTCS phase in the modulation circuit. Sets the transmit 
frequency shift in a higher direction when the DTCS signal changes in
the plus direction. The setting is determined by the polarity of the 
transmitter amplifiers.

Selects the DTCS phase in the demodulation circuit. Sets the decoded 
DTCS frequency shift in a higher direction when the receive frequency
changes in the plus direction. The setting is determined by the 
receiver construction.

Auto       Automatically selects the tone burst mode when 
           TX CTCSS/DTCS is turned ON.

ON(Fixed)  Tone burst mode is continuously selected.

Selects the modulation for a period of "CTCSS Reverse Burst".


Notone  No modulation during the period.

Phase   Reversed phase modulation during the period.





//// CTCSS Decode Attack Level ////

Sets the CTCSS decode attack period in 255 steps. 

Lower settings provide quick decode attack times for low tone 
frequencies, however, incorrect detection may occur at high tone 
frequencies.




//// CTCSS Decode Release Level ////

Sets the CTCSS decode release time in 255 steps. 

Higher settings result in faster closing of the CTCSS squelch.




//// CTCSS Decode PS Level ////

Sets the CTCSS decode threshold level in 255 steps.




//// Power Save OFF and ON Timers ////

When the power saver function is turned ON and while receiving no 
signal, the transceiver's internal circuit toggles between the "idle"
and "activate" condition according to these power save ON and power 
save OFF timers, respectively.




//// IF Frequency ////

Sets the 1st IF frequency from 0 MHz to 99.975 MHz. 

Enter a minus IF frequency for models which have a 1st LO frequency 
lower than the receive frequency. To reset the digits below 1 MHz, 
push [.] then enter the desired digits.




//// PLL Reference ////

Sets the reference frequency for different version.




//// TX PLL Fast Timer ////

Sets the operating time of the transmit PLL acceleration circuit 
from 0 to 0.255 sec. in 0.001 sec. steps.

The default setting is optimum. If this is changed, the PLL lockup 
time is increased.




//// RX PLL Fast Timer ////

Sets the operating time of the receive PLL acceleration circuit 
from 0 to 0.255 sec. in 0.001 sec. steps.

The default setting is optimum. If this is changed, the PLL lockup 
time is increased.




//// PLL Option ////

This item sets the PLL IC's binary data, such as charge pump
characteristics, etc.

When this default setting is changed, the PLL might be unlocked.




//// TX Mute Timer ////

PLL output is unstable at the initial moment of transmission.  This 
item mutes the transmission from 0 to 0.255 sec. in 0.001 sec. steps
to prevent unstable oscillations.

NEVER change this setting. Setting shorter times results in spurious 
emissions.




//// RX Mute Timer ////

PLL output is unstable when changing channels or returning to 
receive. This item mutes the "BUSY" signal from 0 to 0.255 sec. 
in 0.001 sec. steps. to prevent the CPU from detecting adjacent 
channel conditions.

Incorrect signal detection may occur when setting it lower than the 
default setting.




//// Set Mode Access ////

Turns the set mode access ON or OFF.

When OFF is selected, the dealer set mode access is inhibited and the
dealer set mode item in the Common screen disappears.

When "Set Mode Access" is set to enable, the operating frequency
may be changed directly from the transceiver keypad.

To enter the frequency:
1.  While pushing [C] and [Speaker mark] switches, turn the power ON. 
2.  "dEALR" appears.
3.  Enter the "Dealer Passcode".
4.  Select the desired operating channel number with [] or [] key.
5.  Enter the desired receive frequency from keypad.
     Push [Speaker mark] to cancel the entered number.
     Push [#] to inhibit the channel.
6.  Push [<] to enter the transmit frequency.
7.  Turn the power OFF.
