Configuring a Network Adapter

Use VI Web Access to edit existing network adapters attached to virtual machines. The settings you can configure include the virtual network device to which the virtual machine is bound and the network driver it uses.

To edit the virtual network adapter attached to a virtual machine

1. Make sure the virtual machine is powered off.
2. From the VI Web Access client, select the virtual machine.
3. On the Summary tab, under Hardware, click the network device.
4. To edit the configuration on an existing network device, click Edit.
5. To connect this virtual machine to the network when the virtual machine is powered on, select Connect at Power On.
6. In the Network Connection list, select the virtual network device that you want the virtual machine to use.
7. In the Virtual Device list, select either the vlance or vmxnet network driver.
8. Click OK.
