Configuring a Parallel Port

Use VI Web Access to edit how a virtual machine uses physical parallel ports or to connect a parallel port to a file.

To edit the parallel port settings

1. From the VI Web Access client, select the virtual machine.
2. On the Summary tab, under Hardware, click Parallel Port.
3. To edit the configuration on a parallel port, click Edit.
4. Under Device status, the default setting is Connect at power on.

   Click the check box if to deselect this setting.

5. Choose the Connection type.
   • Physical - From the drop-down menu, choose the port that will be used on the end user's host machine.
   • File - Enter the path and filename, or browse to the location of the file.
6. Click OK.
