Virtual Machine Events Tab

The Events tab is available when you select a virtual machine from the inventory panel of the navigation bar. Only those events that occurred on the selected object appear on the Events tab. Select an event to display its details in the Event Details field. Click the link in the Event Details field to shift the display to the linked object.

The Events list is a log of the most recent actions or events recorded on the virtual machine, such as the questions that ESX Server asks, errors, and other events like powering on or powering off the virtual machine. The events appear in reverse chronological order.

The event log draws its data from the log file for the virtual machine's configuration file. By default, the file is stored in the directory where the current virtual machine is stored.

Field	Description
Triggered	Date and time the event occurred.
Triggered By	Entity that triggered the event.
Type	Type of event that occurred.
Message	Text explanation of action.
