			DI-701 4.10 Firmware Installation:

.Requirements

Hardware :
    1. A PC with at least one available COM port.
    2. A pin-to-pin RS-232 cable



Software :
    1. LOAD.EXE : Main program.
    2. The auxiliary program: FWLOAD.EXE.
    3. The image file of new firmware: FIRMWARE.BIN
       The file name MUST be exactly the same one.

       All files above MUST be put together under the same directory.
       For better disk access speed, we suggest you to copy all files
       in your harddisk before starting upload.



1. Connect DI-701 and your PC COM port with the RS-232 cable.

2. Run the LOAD.EXE with COM port specified.
   And press START button.

3. You will see messages :

    
     ->           FWLOAD -? for usage help.
                  press <ESC> to abort this program.

     ->           Waiting device power on . . .



4. Your device may be already powered on. Remove the power from the    DI-701 and immeadiately    replace it.

     ->           Device has been detected.
     ->           Ready for upload.
     ->           Uploading . . .
(increasing) ->   123768 bytes transmitted
     ->           Firmware upload succeeded.

   DI-701 will automatically reboot when it is uploaded successfully.

   If you get an error during upload, please check the cable       connectivity and
   make sure that you have selected an correct COM port, then go       through these
   steps again.

			5.20 GUI Installation

You will first want to remove the GUI you currently have installed unless it is Version 5.20.

1.  In the DI-701 folder that was extracted from the             di701_firmware_410.zip
    download, unzip the DREI701_GUI_520. It will default to the folder      DI-701\Disk1.

2.  Go to Start->Settings->Control Panel-> ADD/REMOVE Programs. Once in     ADD/REMOVE Programs     remove the entry labled "D-Link DI-701" by      clicking on D-Link DI-701 then clicking the     Change/Remove           button. When Windows asks if you completely want to remove the          "DI-701" and all     of it's components click on Yes. Once the          removal is complete click "OK" or "Finish" to     complete the          process. 

3.  Once that is removed,  go to the Disk 1 folder and click on the         Setup icon to begin the     installation of the 520 GUI. Follow the     on screen instructions leaving the Installation     folders at          their default values. When the installation is complete you can run     the manager     utility from Start->Programs->D-Link DRE-I701.
