Windows XP

Installation:
-------------
  Before starting with the installation process, make sure that the 
  adapter is properly installed and configured.

   1.If Windows XP has built the driver, when you plug the adapter in the 
     mother board and power on the Windows XP, the Window XP will install 
     the driver automatically.

     You will see there is an item:
     
     "DGE-500T Gigabit Adapter"

     in the 'Network adapters' list in the Device Manager.

     The Device Manager can be invoked by choosing Start\Settings\
     Control Panel\Performance and Maintenance\System\Hardware(Tag)\
     Device Manager(Button)

     We recommend you to install the updated driver from the distributing 
     disk by performing step 3 ~ 12.

   2.If Windows XP has not built the driver, obey step 5 ~ 12 to install 
     the driver.

   3.Invoke the Device Manager. Right click the item

     "DGE-500T Gigabit Adapter"

     in the 'Network adapters' list, and choose Properties.
     There will prompt the 'DGE-500T Gigabit Adapter Properties' window.

   4.Click the Driver tag, and choose the 'Update Driver...' button.
     There wll prompt a 'Hardware Update Wizard' window.

   5.The Wizard will ask you
     What do you want the wizard to do?
     Please choose
     'Install from a list or specific location(Advanced)'
     Click 'Next'.
     
   6.There will prompt a 'Please choose your search and installation 
     options' window. 
     Please choose 'Don't Search. I will choose the driver to install'
     option. Click 'Next'.

   7.There will prompt a "Hardware Type." window.
     Please select the Network adapters hardware type,and then 
     click 'Next'.

   8.Click 'Have Disk...'.
     In 'Install From Disk' window, type the following path in the 
     combo list:

     EX: A:\WINXP

     Click 'OK'.  

   9.There will show

            "D-Link DGE-500T Gigabit Adapter"

     in the 'Network Adapter:' field.
     Click 'Next'.

  10.There will show

            "D-Link DGE-500T Gigabit Adapter"

     in 'Hardware Installation' window.
     Click 'Next'.

  11.Windows XP will copy the driver and system files for the network.
     If there prompts a " ...has not passed Windows Logo testing...", 
     please click 'Continue Anyway' to continue the installation.

  12.Click 'Finish' to complete the installation.
